Created during the 2019 federal government shutdown, The Furlough Cheesecake began when furloughed DMV sisters Jaqi and Nikki needed a way to make ends meet. What started as a simple temporary solution quickly captured hearts across the country, carrying their desserts to CNN, The Ellen Show, and Walmart shelves.
